1) Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and the privacy policy. You must be legally eligible to enter binding contracts in your country. If you use the service on behalf of an entity, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity.
2) Service description
ExMoney provides digital tools that may include, for example:
- Recording personal income and expenses, categories, and budgets.
- Group ledgers and bill splitting (equal / fixed / percentage).
- 1:1 friend ledgers and in-app contacts.
- Proposing and confirming settlements, and offline sync for supported transactions/bills.
- Operational notifications and optional features controlled by Feature Flags.
We may modify or discontinue certain features for development, maintenance, or compliance, while seeking to minimize impact on users.
3) Account and security
- You are responsible for the accuracy of registration data (especially phone number) and for keeping your password and device tokens confidential.
- Activity through your account is considered yours unless you reasonably prove otherwise after promptly notifying us of a compromise.
- Creating multiple accounts to abuse the service or circumvent limits is prohibited.
4) Shared ledgers and settlements
When you share a ledger with others, related data (such as shares, balances, and settlement status) becomes visible to authorized participants. In-app settlements represent a recorded agreement between the parties; dual confirmation (when enabled) updates balances according to the service logic.
5) Amounts and payments
- Amounts are processed as integers in minor units (for example, piastres) by system design.
- Any link between your personal wallet and debt ledgers follows the enabled product logic (such as automatic wallet sync) and may change with feature policies.
- Electronic payment features — if any — may be experimental or provided via an external provider; actual fund transfer completion is outside our full control and is subject to the provider’s terms.
6) Acceptable use
Users must not:
- Use the service for illegal activity, money laundering, or fraud.
- Attempt to compromise systems, perform harmful reverse engineering, or flood the API.
- Upload content that is illegal, infringes others’ rights, or contains malware.
- Impersonate others or collect unauthorized data about other users outside a legitimate ledger purpose.
7) Content and attachments
You retain ownership of content you upload and grant ExMoney a limited, non-exclusive license to host, display, and operate it as needed to provide the service (including showing it to authorized participants in shared ledgers). We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or endangers platform security.
8) Intellectual property
The marks, names, interfaces, and software of the service are owned by ExMoney or licensed to it. Use of the service grants you no ownership rights other than a personal, non-transferable license while you comply with these terms.
9) Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not provide financial, accounting, or legal advice. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service, nor the accuracy of results that depend on data entered by users.
10) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ExMoney is not liable for indirect, consequential, or lost-profit or data damages arising from use of or inability to use the service, and aggregate liability — if established — will not exceed the amount you actually paid us for the service in the three months preceding the event (or zero if the service is free).
11) Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Delete account) as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or for security/legal necessity, with reasonable notice when possible.
12) Governing law
These terms are governed by the applicable laws relating to providing an online service to users in multiple countries, while respecting mandatory rights granted by the law of your country of residence when it applies. Any dispute should first be addressed amicably via support, then through the competent courts under the applicable law.
